On Wednesday July 5, Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility Research Experience for Undergrads (CNF REU) interns gave their first research progress presentation. CNF Lester B. Knight Director, Christopher Ober, kicked off the program with his last ever, Ted Talk, or, in CNF terms, Lester Talk. In his Keynote presentation, Ober highlighted topics ranging from lithography and patterning, to surface structure in thin films, summarizing his accomplishments over the years as a CNF director and PI.
“The insight that I got being director is that -- as much as it's wonderful to have all these amazing tools and pieces of equipment in the cleanroom -- what really matters is the people, and what they know. So. It's the collective knowledge and the team spirit [of the staff] that makes CNF what it is” says Christopher Ober.
As Ober’s time as Knight Director comes to a close, CNF recognizes and celebrates the notable accomplishments he’s made in this position since 2016.
